Grah Milan is matching of the planets of both the horoscopes and also the strength of the 7th house, which is the house of marriage. Meaning does the 7th house , its lord and significator or karka promise marital happiness. If the 7th house is weak and does not promise marital happiness then a simple Gun milan is not of any help. Therefore I insist that proper Kundali Milan is Gun and Grah milan.
