When can a girl marry after performing last rites

      Hi sir,
      A girl who performed antimsamskar(karma kanda)/last rites to her father as she’s the only daughter, after how many days can she marry?
      Can the same girl get married with in 1 year ?As people say for girls it is not mandatory to wait till 1 yr is it true?Please reply.

      Marriage can be considered after 6 months.

      Certainly. It is your paying obeisance to the memory of your beloved father. Marriage does not make you a slave of your husband or his family as per Puranas..

      The prohibition one year relates to marriage of son.
      Daughter can be married as early as possible.
      Departed soul wants to get the marriage of daughter performed.

      Doing last rites to your elders do not prohibit you from doing anything after that. If you can eat, drink and urinate after conducting the last rites, you could as well get married too. There is a limit to superstition being followed by illiterates.
