Hi NavneetJi,

Can you please advise that to determine the quality/strenghth of the Mahadasha of a planet , what should be considered — BAV(Bhinaa Ashtak varga) points of that planet or Shadbala of that Planet for which Mahadasha/Antardasha is running ?

There are two different tools to know the strength of the planet and to make predictions.

In Shadbala you have 6 different bala consolidated into one like Sthana bala, Dig bala, Chesta bala etc. strength due to placement, direction etc of planets. While in Ashkatvarga is how other planets support and oppose a planet. If a planet is strong in both Shadbala and Ashtakvarga it will surely give good results in its Mahadasha and antardasha.

But if a planet has strong shadbala for example exalted Saturn but it has only 1 ashtakvarga point in D1 Chart then how should be the quality of Saturn Mahadasha — i mean which tool will prevail — Ashtakvarga or Shadbala?

1 Ashtakvarga point is less therefore despite Saturn being exalted it will not give appropriate results.

How can we relate Ashtakvarga, Vimsopaka bala and Ishta phal? What if Sun and Saturn are conjunct, both are above 120% in shadbal but Saturn has a low IP (10.4) and Sun has a high IP 48.2. Both scale an Ashtakvarga of 5. They are forming a Raj yoga too. How will be Saturn Mahadasha? Please enlighten to understand how the grahas give results in their MD. Thank you so much.
