I’m Libra lagan, Taurus Rashi, my moon is in the 8th house aspected by Saturn. What gemstone should I wear for luck and prosperity? My DOB is 15/08/1979 at 11 AM in Calcutta.

Your Moon is at 3°41’41” in Taurus, where as your 8th cusp has fallen in Taurus at 15°45’45”. So as the degrees are less than the 8th cusp, it is deemed to be in 7th house. There is no harm with this.
Your lagna is at 16°33’32” in Libra. Your lagna sub lord is Venus. Venus is signifying 10th house and 11th house. It is the best feature in your chart. You are the luckiest person. You will have reputation and all round success in your life. So there is no need for wearing a gem stone. Even if you want to wear a gemstone I suggest you to wear the coloured clothes pertaining to the specific planet and observe. If it is good, then go for the gem stone.
Jupiter is signifying 10th house and 11th house. So Topaz studded in gold should be put on the ring finger on any thursday after performing puja to Lord Lakshmi Narasimha. Then wear the ring and take the teerdham in the temple.

I’m not really bit proponent of gems. But then, in your case, it would perhaps make sense for you to consider wearing a Perl to address Ashtama Chndra or Moon/Chandra being precariously placed in the 8th house of Randra-Sthana, where he is neither comfortable nor happy and can be detrimental for related significance.
Incidentally, you are in the midst of Uccha or exalted Jupiter/Guru’dev’s Maha-Dasha (as per Vimsottari Dasha system) placed in the 10th house of Karma-Sthana. Given that he rules the 3rd & 6th houses, he is not a functional benefic for the birth-chart. To make things more interesting, he is way too close to Badha-Karaka Sun/Ravi for comfort. In fact, he seems to have been torched by Sun/Ravi for being in close proximity. Further, he is placed very close to Mrityu Bhaga and within the fatal Trimsamsa degrees. So, it would make sense for you to consider propitiating him. He has activated his Rashi depositor Moon/Chandra as also Nakshatra depositor Mercury/Budha (who rules the 9th & 12th houses) and hence your experiences.

Please understand the difference between a rasi (sign) and a bhava (house). Without knowing this, if you go, there is a chance of failure. Moon is in your 7th house. but it is in the 8th sign. The matters are to be seen from the houses, not from the signs.
Mr. TKC sir is following Bhava method and other divisional charts, which gives correct results. Mr. Navneet Khanna jee is also following.
