I have a general question. What role does the Moon play in astrology? I am an astrology learner and want to know the Moon’s role.

      Hi,

Moon/Chandra plays a very prominent role in Astrology… for it signifies mind, mother and other such important generic aspects/people in one’s life.

Many a times the time of birth will be inaccurate and hence placement of Moon/Chandra is more reliable. Further, all individuals perceive everything around them, their experiences etc. through their mind (and effects of transits play an equally critical role). So, a lot of learned/evolved/elevated rely of Chandra Lagna to  either arrive at or validate their understanding of any birth-chart… in other words, understanding Moon/Chandra is a gateway to the individual’s mind and in-turn nature, character etc.

Lastly, most folk rely on Vimsottari Dasha (Nakshatra based) system that is purely based on placement of and progression of Moon/Chandra at the time of birth. And, for now this should suffice.

Personally, I think all knowledgeable/learned/evolved/elevated folk have their own way of understanding a particular birth-chart and such scholars would have written their understanding in different ways and at times you might feel/get confused trying to learn concepts of different scholars. Apart from that, one needs to be blessed with intuition, analytical, logical reasoning skills etc. to help connects dots. So, I would urge you to consider focusing on those aspects.

      Take care…

Thanks, Buddy for your reply. I have Moon in Scorpio, which they say is debilitated and bad. Is debilitated moon a curse in my life. Will I ever be happy in life? I have no friends, and I feel lonely and sad. Sometimes feel no reason to live. What can I do?

      Hi,

It does not make much sense to look at anything in isolation. Instead, it would make sense to cast your birth-chart and look at things holistically.

      Take care…

      Hi,

Given birth-details placed Ascendent or Udaya Lagna in the Zodiac sign of Leo or Simha Rashi and Lagna lord Sun/Ravi is placed in the 10th house of Karma-Sthana in the Zodiac sign of Taurus or Vrishaba Rashi… where he attains Dig-Bala or directional strength. Mars/Kuja, the 4th & 9th lord… a YogaKaraka and 2nd & 11th lord Mercury/Budha are also placed there, making things look good, But then, placement of low-profile miscreants Maandi & Gulika (who seem to hoovering right over) are not preferred – nor is the close proximity of Mars/Kuja and Mercury/Budha, while both are posited in the Lunar Constellation of Rohini Nakshatra, ruled by Moon/Chandra (for the records, they don’t get along well).

Moon/Chandra is the 12th lord. He is placed in his Neecha-Sthana or sign of debilitation in the Zodiac sign of Scorpio or Vrichika Rashi. He participates in Sukshma Parivarthana with Mercury/Budha, at Nakshatra level… creating some idiosyncrasies in your ways and perhaps making it  difficult for others to understand. Furhter, Moon/Chanda seems to be adrift in the middle of nowhere, with very little support on either side of the flanks… making the fast moving and wavery celestial wobble, which is indicative of an oscillating (never or rarely firm) mind, imagining things and often wandering aimlessly without rhyme or reason. Further, this has also contributed to few or fewer friends and limited social life. So, there is a strong need for you to consider strengthening your Moon/Chandra and hence your mind.

Thereafter, I’d like to draw your attention to the close proximity and conjunction of Jupiter/Guru-dev, Saturn/Shani-dev and Venus/Shukra. They are all posited in the Lunar Constellation of Kritika Nakshatra, ruled by Lagna Lord Sun/Ravi. For the records, Saturn/Shani-dev is a nasty Roga-Karaka, Jupiter/Guru-dev lords the 8th house of Randra-Sthana. The close conjunction/combination of  Jupiter/Guru-dev and Saturn/Shani-dev is an indication of atrocities against and killing of noble creatures (Cow/Gow and/or Brahman Hathya Dosha) a heavy Karmic burden from past life.

Thankfully, there are some good Dhana/Raja Yogas (including unearned money and/or inheritances. So, money/finance should not really be a problem.

Current Maha-Dasha is that of Venus/Shukra and Antara of Saturn/Shani-dev. They’ve activated a bunch of other celestials… some are not so good. So, please consider suitable Vedic/Dharmic remedies, as per your religious faith and belief. Along with that, it would also make sense for you to consider practicing Yogasana, Pranayama and Meditation… to help address your situation.

      Take care…
