The sole purpose of horoscopes is to forecast life events. The dasha system or the planetary period is an unique method in Vedic Astrology for forecasting life’s events. Rahu Mahadasha
Rahu is considered as one of the most malefic force in ones chart and considering it as malefic is very logical because it is behind the factors that form the eclipse, which blocks the light of the great luminaries the Sun and Moon. It is a known fact that Rahu can also bring enormous gains when placed or associated with strong planets in the horoscope. As a shadowy planet it takes and magnifies the powers of other planets with which it is associated. For example Rahu in the 11th house brings enormous materialistic gains. Rahu also gives popularity, fame and power. A strong Rahu is must for political success. Rahu gives best results when placed in the malefic house. The positive influence of Rahu is less common than the negative. Rahu represents the force that is difficult to handle and the good results may come out through overcoming many obstacles in life.
The Mahadasha of Rahu is for 18 Years. This Rahu mahadasha period generally seems to come during the formative years of the native. It has been observed that many times some of the most important decisions of life like job, business and marriage are taken during the Rahu Dasha period. This is the period when the native will be putting its feet in the world completely on its own. This is the time when the native will move away from the protection of his family to make a mark for itself. The native will be full of energy, enthusiasm and has the capacity to take quick decisions. The zeal to do something unique and fast and prove himself would be high on priority. Rahu is the planet for imagination and the Rahu Mahadasha accelerates the passion of the native many folds and brings over confidence. Rahu aspect on lagan and the Moon will reduce the ability of the person to take correct and timely decisions. Rahu Mahadasha + Rahu Antardasha – Mental Anxiety, transfer, legal trouble , transfer, ill health to wife, leaving home and wandering
Rahu Mahadasha + Jupiter Antardasha – Improvement in health, promotion in job, child birth or marriage, pilgrimage, distant travelling, litigation and legal problems.
Rahu Mahadasha + Saturn Antardasha – Overall a very unfavorable period, ill health to spouse, temporary or permanent separation, health problems to self.
Rahu Mahadasha + Mercury Antardasha – Promotion in job and improvement in business, purchase of vehicle, luxuries, social connections, earning through illegal ways.
Rahu Mahadasha + Ketu Antardasha – Disease prone, ill health, differences with wife, loss of wealth, allegations from others, problems with seniors.
Rahu Mahadasha + Venus Antardasha – Purchase of vehicle and other comforts, marriage, happiness from wife, promotion in job, gains through agriculture business, health of self will be matter of concern.
Rahu Mahadasha + Sun Antardasha – Change or transfer in job, change in residence, mental worry and health issues like gastic problems, boils, fever can be there.
Rahu Mahadasha + Moon Antardasha – Enjoyment in life, support from others, distant travel, financial improvement, mental tensions.
Rahu Mahadasha + Mars Antardasha – loss through legal issues, disagreements with brothers, mental agony, health issues, accidents, reckless decisions.
If Rahu is in 3, 6, 11 of the birth then financial improvement will be there. Benefic aspects on Rahu and the bhava decides the nature of results of the Rahu Mahadasha. It is not correct to say that the entire period of Rahu Mahadasha of 18 years will give problems. Rahu along with other planets which are malefic in the horoscope will give bad results.
