I am currently working as a consultant since Aug 2022. I am planning to change my work and get back to academic research and teaching. I have recently also applied for the job of assistant professor. Do you see a job change in the next few months and is working in academia better for me or am I better off in the consulting field? I have been living abroad since the last 9 years and have a doctoral degree in chemical engineering as well.
