Why do astrologers believe that Shani (Saturn) and Rahu create negative energy when they are in conjunction? Is there any positive aspect to Saturn and Rahu combination?

Please provide your date of birth, accurate time of birth and place of birth. If Saturn and Rahu are in the star of a planet which signifies good houses then the combination will do good to the native. If they are in the star of a planet which signifies evil houses, then the combination will be malefic to the native.
It is in the Vedic astrology that the combination is bad. The reason I do not know.

Saturn is the lagna lord. Saturn is in 7th house Leo at 18°40’31”. 8th cusp is at 24°18’18” in Leo. Rahu is in Leo at 25°41’45”. See the placement of Saturn and Rahu. Both are in Leo. But Saturn is behind 8th cusp and so it is deemed to be in 7th cusp. Rahu is ahead of 8th cusp and so it is deem to be in 8th house and gives 8th house matters. It is not in conjunction, but in the same sign. Saturn gives 7th house matters (spouse), while Rahu gives 8th house matters (tensions, untoward incidents).
A house and a sign are not same. A house is an imaginary division that surrounds the earth based on earth’s rotation. It gives the matters for which we are searching like marriage, profession etc. A sign is a place where all the planets are situated in the space. It shows the strength of planets only. But some astrologer consider as if they are in conjunction. Then the results differ from actual occurance.
Saturn is in the star of Venus in 11th house (fulfilment of desires). It is good. Saturn is in the sub area of Rahu, which again signifies Venus in 11th house. So there would be financial gains with all your efforts. That is given in Saturn period.
Rahu is in the star of Venus in 11th house. It is good. But it is in the sub area of Mercury in lagna, conjoined with Mars (3rd and 4th lord) and Sun (8th lord). In Rahu period you will have troubles with your friends, tensions with your siblings in your home. You will suffer from neurological problems.
Saturn is benefic while Rahu is malefic in your case. I hope I have explained correctly to make you understand the basic concept.
