GuestAstrologers have told me that having my Lagnesh (Ascendant lord) in the 12th house is inauspicious and may bring negative effects. I’m seeking a second opinion—can someone provide more insight on this placement? My date of birth is 15 July 1999 at 15:45 hours near New Delhi.

Your lagna lord Mars is in Libra at 10°2’59” whereas 12th house is at 16°50’53” and Mars is deemed to be in 11th house. 11th house deals with fulfilment of wishes, success etc which is a good house. So Mars gives 11th house results. Mars is in Libra which they treat as 12th house. There is a difference between a house and a sign. Planets revolve in a zodiacal belt which is divided into 12 equal signs. The houses are the imaginary belt that surrounds the earth at the time of birth. This imaginary belt is divided into 12 parts each one is called a house. A house gives the matters for which we are seeking, while a sign gives the strength to planets. A planet emits its rays from a sign through the houses to reach the native. These two are alike two filters. Some astrologers treat the signs as houses and their predictions may fail.
If lagna lord is in 12th sign, the lord become weak and the native will have poor immunity. He has to work hard more than his capacity. No one will care his words as his words have no importance. If the lagna lord is in 11th house, there will be success in all his efforts. He will have good returns of all.
In your case lagna lord Mars is in the star of Rahu in the 9th house. Mars is in the sub of Jupiter in 5th house. So you have poorva punya and always do good deeds. You will go abroad. You have a decent and disciplined life. You will be devotional and at the same time very materialistic and luxurious. You have broad outlook. Your expenditure goes to good deeds even you are economical.
Good Luck
