An astrologer told me that I will be facing markesh from 30 march 2025. What exactly is Markesh dasha in astrology. please elaborate.
date of birth is 10 dec 1996 and time is 11:10 pm

First of all let me clarify that you don’t run the period of Markesh. For maraka or death, the periods of significators of 2nd house, 7th house and Badhaka stana should operate conjointly. And also the transit should cooperate. Then the death takes place. 2nd house is also signifies so many good factors which are useful to every life. 2nd house deals with finances, speech, right eye etc. 7th house deals with the partner may be life partner or other. They are useful for every life. Badhakastana is Aries to your lagna.
Your lagna fell in Leo at 12°16’57” which is a fixed sign. For fixed signs Badhakastana is 9th house which is vacant and so Mars is the significator.
Current period is Venus-Saturn-Jupiter upto 26-6-2025. Next comes Mercury bhukti. Venus is signifying 5th house and 8th house through Jupiter, which is good for longevity. But Jupiter signifies 4th and 12th house also, but 12th house gives you unnecessary expenditure through your mother or other. Not death.
Bhukti lord Saturn is the lord of 7th house and is in 7th house. Again Saturn is signifying 7th house being in its own star. But Saturn signifies Venus lord of 3rd (life giving house) and 10th house (job, reputation). Even though Saturn is the significator of 7th house, it is signifying 3rd house through Venus. Hence no death indication is there.
Next bhukti is of Mercury. Mercury is signifying 2nd (finances) and 11th house (fulfilment of desires) through its lordship and 5th house through its occupation. 3rd house and 10th house through its sub lord Venus. So in your job, there would be movement from present place to nearby. Again badhaka Mars signification is not there.
So there won’t be death to you now, as the astrologer said.

As per Vedic astrology, Markesh Dasha refers to a planetary period that may bring health difficulties, serious obstacles, or other challenging circumstances, depending on the strength and placement of the planet in the birth chart. The term Maraka means a hardship, where Markesh symbolises the planet that will pose the problems.
As per astrology the 2nd and 7th houses from the Lagna are considered Maraka houses. The lords of these houses can act as Maraka planets, and their Mahadasha or Antardasha may activate Maraka influences. The 2nd house is the 12th from the 3rd house of longevity, while the 7th house is the 8th from the 12th house, which is another traditional consideration in assessing longevity.
However, every Markesh Dasha does not necessarily indicate death or a life-threatening event. Its results depend on several factors, including the lagna strength, benefic aspects on lagna, the condition of the 8th house and its lord, the running Dasha and Antardasha, and the influence of transiting Saturn and Jupiter. It also has to involve the role of Badhaka Graha. In simple terms, Markesh Dasha does not mean only death, but a period of hardships. Do remedies of that planet to find relief.
