Hi, my name is Gurjinder Singh, and I work as a software developer.
I started my professional career in January 2024 and switched to my first new company in December 2025. Initially, things were going well at my new company. However, when the company started losing projects, management decided to lay off employees.
The first round of layoffs took place in February 2026. My name was on the list, but somehow, I managed to save my job at the end of the month. Unfortunately, in May 2026, I lost my job in another round of layoffs.
Since then, I have been actively searching for new opportunities, but I have received very few responses. In the past five months, I have received interview calls from only four companies. Although I felt that I performed well in interviews at two of these companies, I was not selected.
Now, I am confused and concerned about my career. Should I change my profession, or should I continue pursuing opportunities in software development? When can I expect a new job opportunity to arise?
