nadi dosha Meaning in Kundli Milan 

For the perfect match making, we need to make sure there is no Nadi dosha. Nadi is one of the most important kootas in horoscope matching (kundli milan) also reffered as Ashtkoot Guna milan.

What is Ashtkoot Guna milan: 

In Vedic Astrology there is an elaborate system for assessing married life of bride and bridge groom called Nakshatra Melapak.

Under this system eight factors are taken into consideration:

viz. (i) Varna (ii) Vashya (iii) Tara (iv) Yoni (v) Graha Maitri (vi) Gana (vii) Bhakoot and (viii) Nadi

Each of these factors carries compatibility points commencing from one point for Varna,

two points for Vashya etc., increasing in that order with Nadi dosh carrying the maximum 8 points out of a total of 36 points or Gunas.

From this it is obvious that maximum importance is attached to Nadi with 8 points,

Bhakoot with 7 and Gana with 6 points.

It is important to note that the last three factors (Kootas) account for 21 out of maximum 36 points, i.e. more than

58%. That is why these 3 Doshas are well known as Mahadoshas in Guna Milan system or Match making. So if any dosha is coming in these three, the birth charts have to be checked more carefully.

WHAT IS NADI DOSHA: 

If the boy and the girl have same Nadi in their birth charts they get what is called as Nadi dosha. Just to explain a little bit more, you can read below.

There are 27 Nakshatras in birth chart which are divided into 3 Nadis :

1) Aadi Nadi,

2) Madhya Nadi and

3) Antya Nadi

If the Nakshatras of the bride and bridegroom’s belong to the same Nadi (i.e. Aadi-Aadi or Madhya – Madhya or Antya – Antya) then Nadi Dosh arises and no points i.e zero point is given to nadi out of 8 which means 8 points are lost.

In case their birth Nakshatras belong to different Nadis, example boy is Aadi Nadi and Girl is Antya Nadi or Girl is Madhya Nadi and Boy is Aadi Nadi, then full 8 points are scored by the couple which is good for their marriage life in respect of considering Nadi consequences.

In nutshell, we can infer that Nadi Dosh is the most serious Dosh among the 8 factors of match matching.
