GuestI’ve read that there are three types of Nadi — Aadi, Madhya, and Antya — and that having the same Nadi leads to Nadi Dosha. I recently came across a post suggesting that Nadi Dosha is very dangerous, especially in terms of health of couple and childbirth.
Is this true according to classical texts? Also, if the Kundali match score is decent (like 25/36 and above) and other factors such as Rashi lord, Rajju, and Bhakoot are compatible, can Nadi Dosha still be considered manageable or cancelled? Would love to hear expert views and experiences on this.

KeymasterIn Vedic astrology, Nadi Dosha is one of the most critical factors in Kundali matching for marriage. Nadi is one of the eight aspects (Ashtakoota) used to assess marriage compatibility, and it carries the highest weight — 8 out of 36 points. When both partners have the same Nadi, it forms a Nadi Dosha, which is considered inauspicious for marital life.
There are three types of Nadi: Aadi (Vata), Madhya (Pitta), and Antya (Kapha). Each Nadi is associated with different elements of the body and mind. Among these, Madhya Nadi Dosha is often considered the most dangerous from a health and progeny perspective as it belongs to fire or Agni tatva, and a mismatch here is believed to cause serious health issues, lack of physical compatibility, and complications related to childbirth.
However, the intensity and impact of Nadi Dosha vary based on the entire chart. If strong factors like same Rashi lord, good Bhakoot, Rajju, and Nakshatra compatibility exist, the dosha can be considered weakened. Also, certain exceptions and cancellations (called Nadi Dosha Pariharas) exist — for example, if both partners belong to different Nakshatras but same Nadi, or if the bride and groom have the same Rashi lord or strong Jupiter and Venus placements. Also checking for Nadi Paad vedha, if no vedha then nadi dosha is considered canceled.
You should remember that Nadi dosha is very important due to its connection with health and fertility, decisions should never be based on Nadi alone. A complete horoscope analysis by a learned astrologer is essential before drawing any conclusion.
