If karma truly governs our lives, why do we often see people who are evil prosper, while those who lead honest lives suffer deeply? Where is the justice of Saturn, the planet of karma, in such situations—especially when it appears that he punishes the innocent but overlooks the actions of abusers?

In Vedic astrology, Saturn (Shani) is the Karmakaraka—the lord of justice and karma. But his justice is not instant; it’s deep, slow, and exact, often working beyond the perception of a single lifetime. When we see wrongdoers thriving and righteous people suffering, it can seem unjust. But Vedic astrology teaches that life is a continuation of past karmas—not just from this birth but from many previous lives.

Those who prosper despite unethical actions may be enjoying good karmic fruits from past lives, but they’re also accumulating bad karma for future suffering. Likewise, those who suffer despite doing good may be exhausting past negative karma to make way for a better future.

Saturn doesn’t forget. He delays, but never denies. His punishments and rewards are designed to elevate the soul, not just to comfort or punish superficially. Shani teaches discipline, endurance, and detachment. The suffering of good people often leads to wisdom, strength, and spiritual growth—which are lasting gains beyond material success.

So while it may seem like justice is absent, in the grand scheme of cosmic law, every action finds its equal reaction, even if across lifetimes. That’s the subtle and silent justice of Saturn.

This is a social system problem. The law of the jungle prefers to pursue fame and fortune, while kind and friendly people do not like to make money against their conscience, so many rich people are not so kind. However, there are also many rich people who are keen on charity and call for the rights of disadvantaged groups. They are also promoting social progress.

This karmic link to past janma is simply nonsensical and bullshit…your good activity may be bad/evil for someone else and vice-versa…so instead of looking at others looks at your own life from a neutral prism and see if you have overall rewarded or punished…make a chart and see what has been more and hope that rewards overtake punishments

The theory of Karma is the very basis of Hindu philosophy. Some people subscribe to it and some don’t. But Hindu philosophy makes no compulsions. It does not force one to accept its view of life. Acceptance is left to the free will of people. And they will decide based on their own interpretation of life.

But Navneet ji has put it very briefly and correctly. The play of Karma involves many lifetimes (again, rebirth is fundamental to Hindu Philosophy). There are volumes written on types of karmas and its linkage to final salvation from the cycle of births and deaths.

Believers will believe. Others won’t. But the Karmic activities go on regardless.

Mother is a divine power to all. When the child is unhealthy, she makes the child to drink caster oil and treat the health of child. At that time mother will be bad to the child. So child also will become bad by blaming her mother. But both are good. Like wise good people will cleanse their sins at every point of time and the soul will become pure. The unknown heavens are full of purified souls only. So the pious people suffer to clear off their sins.

The people who commit sins, will be more attracted towards the materialistic benefits, enjoy luxurious lives and so on. They have to forget their sins and do more mischievous acts. The God gave us the brain and thinking power to think what we are doing and be in right path. He has given the human being certain discretion powers and test how far we are using. He can not keep the blame upon him. The people who are in wrong path, do more nefarious acts will not use their discretion, and feel that they are very lucky to enough to have the benefits and crave for them. The cause is Karma (deeds) and effect is again to suffer until the brain gets matured.
